 Dear sports friends,
Allow me to welcome you, in the name of the Ski Association of the Czech Republic, to the
FIS Grasski Junior World Championship - one of this year's significant ski events in the
Czech Republic. I'm glad that we have the opportunity to organize this kind of event in a
domestic environment and thus welcome to Nove Mesto na Morave young skiers and fans of
this sport from all the world. In the Czech Republic, grass skiing has a long tradition
and enjoys great success among our skiers. Actually, in recent years it has belonged among
the Czech Ski Association's most successful disciplines. I believe we will succeed in
organizing this event as well and that the World Championship will enjoy a pleasant and
friendly atmosphere.
I wish the best results and a wonderful experience to all the skiers, participants and
visitors.
Dear sports friends,
It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to our town in the name of the Sports Club
and the Organization Committee of the Grasski Junior World Championship 2002. The Sports
Club has a long-lasting tradition. It was founded in 1895 as a "Skating Club",
though it soon functioned as a ski club as well. That was the beginning of organized
skiing in our town. During the more than one hundred years of its existence the Sports
Club has focused on cross-country skiing, Nordic combination and ski jumping. The Club
organizes the Gold Ski - a traditional cross-country skiing competition - that has been
organized for 8 years as a part of the Cross-country Skiing World Cup. In January 2003, we
will organize the 65th year of this competition. With the
development of grass skiing, our Club has become active in this ski discipline as well. In
2000-2001 we organized the Czech Cup competition and the FIS Grasski international
competition. Many years of our organizers' experience provides a guarantee of quality
organization of the Grasski Junior World Championship 2002 and we have done our best to
provide truly quality organizing.
I would like to welcome you kindly to our centre, which is a place where the world's top cross-country
skiers meet regularly and I believe you will look forward to coming back as well. I wish
all of you a lovely stay and hope that the skiers will show their best performances.

it is a great honour for Nove Mesto na Morave to organise Grasski Junior World
Championship 2002. Thanks to this significant event, a new sport tradition has been
founded in our region. I amdetermined that it will be welcomed by the sport supporters as
warmly as the sports of the snow-white trackih. I wish you all, sportsmen, organisers and
audience, to find our region worth visiting. Hopefully, the impressions will be so
pleasant that you will be fond of coming back some day in the future.

Let me give my kindest regards to you and at the same time let me invite you to take part
in the Junior World Grasskiing Championship 2002, which will be held for the first time in
the Czech Republic. I believe that thorough work of organizers from the SKI CLUB in Nove Mesto
na Morave will set up conditions for great sport performances and for creating new
friendships and experiences, which are remembered for the whole life. I wish good luck,
good shape and iron will to all sportsmen, a smooth course of the championship and
plentiful audience to the organizing team and good weather and nice sporting time to all
onlookers.
